The concept the Founder had of an apostolic congregation according to the wording of the original rule, was inspired by St.Vincent de Paul. Therefore Eduard Michelis put his foundation under the protection of this saint, the whole of whose endeavours were inspired by this one thought: “God’s glorification through the salvation of men”.
