The history of the Sisters of Divine Providence.
In the introduction of the Constitutions we read about the foundation of our congregation: “Father Eduard Michelis was moved by the social misery, by bodily and mental neglect and the moral and spiritual need of children and orphans among the poorest class of the town of Münster in Germany. In is profound faith in Divine Providence he saw in this challenge of time a call from God, and made himself available to meet it in an attitude of Christian love.”
Over the course of the 177 years of our history, various locations have become "sacred soil", places of deepening and spreading the charism and spirituality. The ‘Friedrichsburg’ in Münster is such a place.
In their greeting of this year's foundation day, the General Coordination referred to the history of this House and expressed their gratitude: "Thank you, Friedrichsburg!"
