In the last seven years Sr. Christa Brünen has been engaged as a pastoral worker in the parish of St. Lamberti in Münster. The main focus of her pastoral work was with children and families. As a mentor, Sr. Christa has accompanied also the training of Frau Mareike Doerenkamp to the pastoral worker. Under her escort Frau Mareike Doerenkamp could complete the training. It was therefore a special moment that Sr. Christa and Mareike could celebrate together the farewell. The family Mass, to which many families with children have come in the Martini Church, was celebrated under the theme "You shall be a blessing". In the sermon-dialogue, Sr. Christa said that she feels like Abraham, who started off to a new beginning because on God’s Word, without knowing where his road would lead to. So like Abraham had put his trust in God, she, too, wants to put her trust in God’s guidance, as she now begins her new task in the General coordination of her congregation. She encouraged the members of the community to be a blessing in this time and in this world, and to find ways to be signs of the love of God.
Particular attraction found the songs of the children's choir and the songs of the Brazilian fellow-sisters of Sr. Christa. At the end of the family Mass, Father Dr. Ziegler, the parish priest, thanked Sr. Christa and Mareike Doerenkamp for their commitment in the parish. The farewell ended with lunch in the parish rectory and encounters, so that Sr. Christa could personally say goodbye to community members.
