In the final phase of our General Chapter, we have worked out our orientation for the next five years. Our common ‘Horizon’ gives direction and orientation to our life.
Our horizon is Jesus Christ!
In light of the Word of God and attentive to the signs of times,
in an attitude of hope and joy
as mystical-prophetic Religious Life
confident we go out in defense of life,
in synodality and interculturality.
We are signs of Divine Providence.
Another gift these days was that we could celebrate together the birthday of Eduard- Michelis (our Founder) on 06.02. We remembered thankfully how he had recognized the cries of the time and chose women to take care of the children from the street.
Today we ended our General Chapter with a solemn Eucharistic celebration. Many sisters from Latin America have come to this event. We experienced a joyful celebration with a lot of singing and music. Our African sisters, for example, took the Gospel to the altar, while dancing, and the Indonesian sisters showed us through a dance how synodality can succeed.
Schwester Lydia Liong (the new General Coordinator) officially closed the General Chapter. The General Coordination presented a burning "flower candle" to all Provinces, Regions and the Dutch Community. A symbolism that wants to pass on the light of the General Chapter to all the sisters. In gratitude and joy we enter now our everyday life.
