Flash lights from the 25th Provincial Assembly of the ’Holy Spirit’ Province
This year's meeting took place in Cuiabá from the 11th to the 13th November. At the beginning, there was a touching moment of prayer. Sr. Elizabeth, Provincial Coordinator, brought the oil lamp, which the General Coordination gave us and which will accompany and enlighten us during the Jubilee year of mercy of our Congregation. The lamp will also unite us with all Providence Sisters.
We also were gifted by another beautiful and meaningful celebration of prayer, conducted by the Group of the "priority of the laity". Theme of this prayer was Creation, presented in a female re-reading. Joyful dances and colours expressed the origin of life.
The communities of the province communicated with much creativity their experiences and the results of their work: their charitable activities, their concern for the environment and their own health, their relationships, and their living together in community and with the people in this most gracious year 2016.
The consultant, Mrs Dr. Olga Simone, spoke about the three laws of love: affiliation, hierarchy and balance that contribute to a good success of relationship. A dynamic helped to explain conflicts.
The introduction of the Group of the priority "Culture of vocation" made a reference to our vocation as a service: our fulfillment and our needs in order to live the values of religious life in loyalty and to witness joy.
Sr. Vilma Lourdes Pretto informed the members and the mission task of the "Team Aliança", which has the important task to link the steps, regards a new structure of the congregation in Latin America.
The eight Jubilee Sisters were honoured and received a gift as a token of our gratitude for their long and determined way of life.
Sr. Elizabeth thanked for the cooperation of the sisters during the time in which she was the Provincial Coordinator and handed over the coordination task to Sr. Mara Butini for the year 2017.
A Eucharistic celebration was the highlight of the second working day. We took the way that we had gone in 2016, as well as the situation of the country and of our family members in this celebration.
At the closing ceremony, which was organized by the Laity and Sr. Vilma, we all were anointed and newly sent out to our realities in the certainty and with confidence that God is with us.
