The provincial/regional Chapters in our Congregation continue to take its turn. Sr. Márian Ambrosio and Sr. Lydia Liong from the General Coordination team flew to Indonesia to accompany the process of the provincial chapter.
On Saturday, 1st September 2018, was the opening of chapter of the Indonesian province. The 26 delegates and other participants have made a pilgrimage to the Sister’s cemetery Providence and went to the pilgrimage shrine of the Mother of God Kerep Ambarawa in the morning.
They then started the official opening in the afternoon at 17:00 with the Eucharist. Sr. Klarista, provincial superior, opened the chapter. Then, the delegates decided upon the standing orders of the chapter procedure.
In her opening words, Sr. Márian Ambrosio, Superior General, invited the delegates to have the future of the province for the next 5 years in their mind.
The chapter will be held in Griya Paseban, Semarang, from 1 September - until 7; the theme is: "Divine Providence, which is creative, strengthens us to go out with joy, crossing the boundaries and embrace threatened life." The words in the Bible from the Gospel of Matthew 15:21-28, about the healing of the daughter of a pagan woman shall enlighten the days of the chapter.
Through Mary, the star of the sea, patroness of the Indonesian province, we ask God to grant fruitful considerations for the future of the life and work of the Sisters of the Indonesian Providence.
