The 3rd of November is a historic day for the entire Congregation, as it is the day of its foundation. In this year of 2020, this date was more special for the Province of the Heart of Jesus, as the 178 years of the Congregation were celebrated in a very creative way and particularly the 125 years of presence in Brazil and 25 years in Mozambique. All the Sisters of the 16 Communities and the Sisters on a mission in Germany and Indonesia were involved in the event.
With great faith and joy, the memory of the 4,540 Sisters who are already in eternity was remembered, acknowledging their donation to the Congregation. Of these, 329 missionary Sisters from overseas, who donated their lives here, received our gratitude!
We establish communion with all 849 Sisters of the Congregation, present on 4 Continents. At the moment, in Latin America, 507 Sisters and 5 novices live their vocation and mission.
We believe that we have been called and sent to be signs of Christian hope and God's love, especially with the poorest. This difficult time in human history challenges us to give the world a taste of the Gospel, as Pope Francis says. We will do this, keeping our Charism alive.
It was two hours with rich and creative messages that enlivened, in our memory, the beautiful story that God made and makes with us. The event nourished everyone with hope and confidence. With a grateful heart we recognize that this story is the WORK OF THE LORD!
It was not possible to contain the emotion when we saw the video about the arrival of our first Sisters to Brazil. With them we sing:
“The pioneers of the mission, Sisters of noble hearts!
Look for us from the high heavens, sing with God the glory!”
Today, we are a Latin American reality formed by 4 Provinces and a Region, with Communities spread across Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay and Mozambique. We look with hope and confidence for the future, in the process of Reunification, in view of a single Latin American Province.
For all we gave glory to God’s Providence the Trinity.
