In the year 2016, the Indonesian Province had twelve sisters that could celebrate a jubilee- anniversary: Sr. Alberta and Sr. Marcella celebrated 65 years of religious life; Sr. Regina and Sr. Yohani celebrated 60 years; Sr. Beata, Sr. Brigita and Sr. Vitalis had a Golden Jubilee; Sr. Agusta and Sr. Teresa were 40 years in our congregation; Sr. Baptista, Sr. Victoria and Sr. Yulia had a Silver Jubilee.
In early December, the Jubilee-Sisters met again for the third time. They exchanged their experience about their personal vocation, shared about our founder Eduard Michelis and about the Constitutions.
Sr. Marcella could not participate in this meeting, due to her illness. Therefore, the other sisters visited her in her community in Pondok Harapan. The sisters whispered to her: "You’ll see, you will celebrate your 65th anniversary!" On that she reacted happily and smiling repeated the words: "65 years!" The Jubilee-Sisters were not only happy that they could visit Sr. Marcella, but also that Sr. Regina could participate in the meeting. Although she is not healthy at all, she was able to stay with the group until the afternoon.
This meeting was greatly appreciated by all the Jubilee-Sisters. It really touched them. They sat together in a circle and were able to share with one another: each one had a notebook with her name on it. The books were passed on to the right neighbour, so that each sister could write an attribution for her fellow-sister into it. In this way, each participant had the opportunity to write her thoughts down and in the end every sister received a good feedback as a spiritual gift. They were very grateful for this appreciation. The sisters said later, that the written thoughts showed clearly some fruits of efforts that had became visible in everyday life. They were happy about the personal and spiritual development.
Then they talked about their experiences with regard to the Bible and the Constitutions. They spoke about the divine strength, which had become evident to them in the course of their life. Closing the meeting, each Jubilee-Sister found a symbol for herself and explained why she had chosen it. These symbols were taken to the Eucharistic celebration at the Provincial-Day on 12thDecember.
