The strength of Charism drives us to take care of life”
Through the prayerful itineraries in preparation for the Feast of the 180th Anniversary of the Foundation of the Congregation and also through the regional meeting with Sr. Lydia and Sr. Beatriz Mohr, we continue to strive to manifest the charism in various concrete activities. The Charism that drives us to take care of life is not only aimed at humans, but also at the integrity of creation.
One of the concrete actions carried out was the distribution of fruit trees and “living pharmacies”, which we call beneficial plants, to patients arriving at the Miriam Mother and Child Hospital (RSIA), Kudus. The work aimed at supplying plant seeds and their care is not only carried out by the Saint Vincentius Community, but involves all collaborators. Every nurse and staff member grows beneficial plants and distributes them to patients. This event was held on July 20, 2022, which also coincided with the 2nd anniversary of RSIA Miriam.
This activity encouraged the Sisters, collaborators and especially the patients, who received plants as gifts. I hope that this activity will continue and be improved in their respective environments.
By involving all collaborators, it is hoped that the love for creation will grow and we can respond to Pope Francis' invitation to care for the earth as our common home. We hope that, through this plant sharing activity, we will increase the number of "Laudato SI" animators in the care of our common home.
God bless!
