Feast of Holy Trinity
With joy we greet you, dear Sister, to celebrate the highest feast of our international congregation!
We are on the way to the 29th General Chapter, which will be held at the Holy Trinity Province, in Curitiba. That's why we turn our look on the already well-known beautiful image of the Trinity, which is located in the big Chapel of the provincial house.
Allow to be touched by the message of this image. Let us dwell in veneration and silence before the mystery that our image is conveying.
The artist Lorenz Johannes Hellmair can help us when meditating it.
His words are hesitant, because he relies on our inner openness in the meditation of the image: "a work of art must convince without much explanation. The existing symbolism accumulates into its secret. The interpretation is subjective.
In the center of the mosaic is a mandala that sticks out like a rose window. In the outer ring of the mosaic we see birds and lilies, and, like in the colorful stained-glass Windows, they run together towards the Centre.
The divine hands of the Father offer to us the love of the Holy Spirit. This love permeates and embraces the crucified Son, who surrenders his life in a gesture of tremendous love. The colours form a rainbow symbolizing the ultimate and everlasting covenant between God and the people. The undulation of the high relief in the brickwork suggests waves or hills. The mandala, emerging from behind, is reminiscent of a new dawn: the Trinity. The mercy of the Triune God arises every new moment, from the beginning until the end of time. It is our task to sail in safe waters on his right hand and to trust in God’s Providence. (cf. the words of the artist Lorenz Johannes Hellmair).
The reading of the liturgy of this day encourages us to continue always to go on with faith in whatever situation we find ourselves: "hope cannot disappoint us, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us" (Rom 5,5).
Being filled from this source of hope and the love of the Triune God we pray:
We thank you that we are allowed to call you with confidence Father-Mother, that you remain near to us in your Son and that through the Holy Spirit you let us see the world more and more with your eyes to discover the traces of your Providence. (Const. No. 25).
Congratulation, dear Sisters! Let us celebrate with joy and thanks by giving honor to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit!
In cordial embrace,
Yours: Sr. Márian, Sr. Lydia, Sr. Lucia Weiler, Sr. Maria Rita, Sr. Christa
