Echoes from the Jubilee celebration in Malawi
Muona, in the South of Malawi, the long-awaited 18 November 2017 has arrived! It is the Regional Day, a day where all the Providence Sisters of the Malawi Region meet to celebrate the Thanksgiving Day for the 175 years of the Congregation of the Sisters of Divine Providence! A Day, to celebrate God’s presence and His love, which He is bestowing to everyone, together with the people! And it is also the day to celebrate the vocation of every sister, but especially the vocation of Sr. Grace Kenneth Tsoka and Sr. Margaret Gama, who will take their first vows.
Merry songs and dances were expression of joy during the long celebration of the Eucharist – about 5 hours - and during the meal and the being together in the afternoon.
Sister Márian Ambrosio, our General Coordinator on a visit to the Region, invited the sisters and all those present, to embrace the future with hope: "to embrace the future is different than waiting for the future; Because, for an attitude of embrace, it is necessary to move, to look carefully, to stretch out arms, to place ones feet forward for being ready to give and receive a hug. This is also the movement that we make when we think about the future of the Congregation. You all belong to this future: the leadership of the Church, who accepts us and gives orientation; the family, the invigorating cell of each vocation; the various pastoral ministries and movements, which form the Apostolic body and make visible the Kingdom of God among us in following Jesus”.
We thank each one and hope to stay together on the road for a long time.
