On November 3rd, 2017, the Holy Trinity Province in Curitiba celebrated the the 175th anniversary of the Congregation of the Sisters of Divine Providence with great joy and united with all sisters in the four continents.
At daybreak, the sisters gathered in the chapel for the morning praise (Lauds prayers). After that, there were fireworks, ringing of the Bell, - the historic Bell of the Provincial House! -, and a festive breakfast.
At 10:30hrs a large number of sisters from the communities, the ‘Messengers of Divine Providence’, former sisters, employees of the Provincial House and befriended priests came together for the celebration of the Eucharist. They were all welcomed by Sr. Rita Maria Küster Boni - Provincial Coordinator -. In her words, she reminded that the seeds sown 175 years ago have brought fruits.
When entering the Chapel, the four continents were considered, in which we are present. This was very impressive and expressed our deep union with all sisters in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe.
After Mass, all gathered together for Lunch.
Viewing it symbolically, the whole thing was a big picture, framed in congratulations and delight over such an important date. The trust of so many sisters in the course of these years and their devotion to the Lord led us to enjoy the experiences of this anniversary.
We praise the Lord in the words of the Psalmist:
“Praise him with sound of trumpet;
praise him with lute and harp.
Praise him with timbrel and dance,
praise him with strings and pipes!
O praise him with resounding cymbals,
praise him with clashing of cymbals.
Let everything that lives and that breathes
give praise to the LORD.
