Memories of our history…
March 27 is a special day for us Sisters of Divine Providence because the first six missionaries from Germany arrived in Florianópolis – Island of Santa Catarina – Brazil, 125 years ago. They were warmly received in the House of the German businessman Francisco Brüggemann.
A few days later they travelled on to Blumenau and Tubarão, where they founded the first two communities on Brazilian soil. Praise be to God because of their courage, their missionary spirit, their love for the Kingdom of God...! May they be advocates with God for our worldwide mission!
