Merry Christmas and blessed New Year!
Dear Sisters!
In the Mystery of the Incarnation, humanity is welcomed into the heart of God!
It’s Christmas! Time to share life with joy, strengthen our hope and our search for a better world, contribute to the growth of solidarity, and be promoters of justice, peace and integrity of creation in the process of caring for and defending LIFE!
The beautiful and significant image of the card, authored by Sr. Marly Cardoso, helps us to reflect, pray and deepen the true meaning of Christmas in our lives. Contemplating the whole image with its details, we can perceive the integration of the Divine mystery with the human mystery. Both the entrance and exit of the heart come from above. It is God the giver of life. In His transforming love He always renews us. The heart receives venous blood through its veins and pumps it to the lung to be purified; this blood returns to the heart to be pumped through the arteries to the body; and life is renewed with each cycle. This is the manifestation of God's love for us in the mystery of the incarnation. We were conceived in the heart of God and, therefore, each person is the fruit of God's desire and his unconditional love.
"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us..."
Jesus incarnates Himself in our reality and becomes human like us. We believe that the Son of God, conceived by the YES of Mary and by the power of the Holy Spirit, true God and true Man, is the truth that needs to reach the depths of our being. This truth helps us to understand that we believe in the Living God, who continually manifests His creative action in all forms of life. The certainty of his presence, in us and among us, nourishes our faith in the face of the challenges that involve our life in mission.
The celebration of Christmas invites us to welcome this event of redemption of the world and to express our hope, in a continuous process of incarnation in reality, moved by trust in Divine Providence.
Let us live the joy of Christmas, with openness, so that the coming of Jesus has space in our hearts, in our communities, in our Church and in the world.
Merry Christmas and blessed New Year!
