Joint Interreligious Celebration in the 2021 Vocation Week
Vocational Week always makes us aware of the great grace that God calls and strengthens our steps to follow His will. Likewise, it touches the heart to continue engaging in today's concrete situations.
After the natural catastrophe that hit the island of Timor and Flores during the Easter season, on April 24, 2021, Saturday, Indonesia again regretted the sinking of the submarine “KRI Nanggala 402” that was carrying 53 crew members who died.
The Sisters of Divine Providence, represented by Sisters Theresiani, Kurnia and Marlina, joined the movement of interfaith leaders, and prayed together for the victims of ship 402 in the Republic of Indonesia. May the crew of this ship be happy with God, and families left behind receive the strength of faith and strength.
The National Prayer for “KRI 402 Nanggala” was held in front of the statue of “Diponegoro Jl. Heroes of Semarang”. After the joint prayer, the event continued with the free distribution of rice and “takjil” (a type of sweet food, a fast-breaking food) for fasting Muslims.
The vocation encourages us to synergy and network with all, so that the love of God can be experienced concretely by many people. Through prayer we also believe that we unite our hearts to those who have left, to lead them to eternal life.
