The Franciscan Sisters signed a private transfer contract of the activities and the ownership of the "Hospital Estrela" on Wednesday morning (14) (HE). From the 1 January 2019 the "Divine Providence Health Network" (RSDP) will take over this Hospital.
"We will almagate our forces in order continue the Mission task of the hospital, which is to help the most needy”, said Sister Inês Pretto, the Provincial Coordinator of the Sisters of Divine Providence.
The Franciscans founded the Hospital Estrela on April 14, 1929. Today it is a reference for the Taquari Valley and for the State of Rio Grande do Sul. It offers the following services: intensive care for adults and newborns, general medicine, Pediatrics, obstetrics, mental health and first aid 24 hours.
The constructed area is 12,000 square meters, 412 employees and 82 doctors are working there. The hospital has 119 beds for admissions (74% for people who have no private health insurance) and 17 beds for outpatient observation. It is a general hospital, which admits the population of the Taquari Valley and carries out different hospital procedures.
