AICAS is a non-profit, private civil society organization (CSO), registered under CNPJ:97.260.749/0001-00. It is active in the field of social welfare policy and was founded on 31.01.1994. The Sisters of Divine Providence have been involved since its foundation; the organization has an inter-congregational identity and also involves lay people in all the work. The work of AICAS develops the Mission "Promoting integral development and the autonomy of the subject to enable social change". Currently, AICAS offers services in partnership with the Municipality of Porto Alegre, maintaining projects with fundraising and supporters in its workshops and various courses. The target group is children, young people, families and homeless people, all of whom are very vulnerable. Every year, AICAS supports more than 3,500 different people in an average of more than 35,000 actions.
