The Dutch community celebrated on the 24th May 2018 in Boxmeer, Netherlands, the Jubilee of four sisters: Sr. Virgo Barkey (80 years in religious life), Sr. Godefriede Jacobsen, and Nicolette v.d.Wal (75 years in religious life) and Sr. M. Henrica Jans (65 years in religious life). Together, there are 295 years of devotion!
Four symbols were in the center of liturgical celebration, to which sisters, co-workers and friends had gathered in the Chapel: light, life, fruit and bread.
After communion, the fruit was shared that each participant of the celebration had brought with her/him. Then, the celebration continued in the large dining room. Gathered around the table food and life was shared, congratulation conveyed to the anniversary sisters and gratefulness expressed for their testimony and their commitment. There was also plenty of time for spontanous encounters and even humorous surprises up to about 4 PM.
Many thanks for the life-witness of our sisters! May God continue to bless and strengthen them!
