Meeting of the Congregation Council in Münster
Moved by the theme "The power of the charism drives us to care for life" and challenged by the Word of God to "to share bread", in a beautiful exercise of synodality, trust, openness and common work, we held the meeting of the Congregation Council at the Generalate in Münster from 14th to 29th March this year.
According to Constitutions No. 132 and 133, the Congregational Council is the advisory and unifying body of the Congregation, which is convened for this purpose by the General Coordination.
It was very well prepared by the General Coordination team using the METHODOLOGY OF SEEING-JUDGING-ACTING. The moderation was by Fr. Polykarp Ulin Agan, SVD, the tasks were distributed among the provinces, the region, the Dutch community, the General Secretariat and the Economat. In mutual help and co-responsibility, also with challenges and bottlenecks, we have worked together on a wealth of issues related to the life and mission of our intercultural religious community.
In the first week we devoted time and reflection to listening to the social, political and ecclesial reality and the reality of the consecrated religious life of each continent. We were able to "travel" through different scenarios and cultures with their enormous cries and challenges, as well as their possibilities, strengths and hopes that emerge from the living presence of the charism.
The second week was dedicated to the implementation of the decisions of the last General Chapter, 2020 as well as internal affairs of the International Congregation.
Dear sisters, we thank you for your solidarity and compassion through prayers and greetings. They have strengthened our unity and our shared commitment.
We live in a time of significant changes in society and the congregation. May they not deprive us of the joy of living and witnessing to our charism in the various realities in which we find ourselves.
In the power of the Crucified and Risen One, we can care for one another and for those entrusted to us.
