Easter! "It is the Lord!"
With our Easter greetings we invite to a meditation on the scene of the apparition at the sea of Tiberias (jn 21, 1-25). This story reminds us of the faith process of the disciples:
- The disciples return to their former job as fishermen. Jesus stands on the shore, but they do not recognize him.
- Jesus takes the initiative: 'Cast the net on the right side of the boat, so you will find some. They cast it, and now they were no able it to haul it in, due to the amount of fish”.
- The disciple, whom Jesus loved, recognizes Jesus: “It is the Lord! “
- The disciples come to Jesus: Simon Petrus springs into the sea, and the other disciples go by boat to the shore.
- The disciples are invited by him to a meal. Jesus speaks to them: "Come and eat! And they are staying with him.
- The Mission of the disciples is transformed, and they are newly sent: "Jesus says to Peter: "Tend my sheep!"
The faith process of the disciples at the sea of Tiberias also happens in our everyday life. If we do something, sometimes, it seems to be in vain, we do not recognize Jesus.
Then, all of a sudden, we grasp the initiative of the Risen One by going to the "Shore of our heart" and listen to what is his will and we do what he says.
After everything is done, we find: "It is the Lord!" We enter into a conscious relationship to him as the source of strength of our life. The encounter with him transforms our Mission, so that we live with new enthusiasm and joy as the Sisters of Divine Providence. Thus, we experience resurrection in the middle of the day of our lives! We wish to all of you that you experienced this Paschal joy in everyday life.
