Our province day, which takes place annually in House Loreto, Burgsteinfurt on October 7, stood this year under the motto: find a home - give a home - be a home! We have chosen the theme referring to the current inner and outer situation of transformation and change that is taking place in our German Province, but also with a view on the world events that touch us, and, in the spirit of our founder, who, in 1842 founded our congregation in a response to the signs of times, namely being touched by the many homeless orphans, whom he wanted to give a home.
The annual report of the Provincial Coordination was the focus of the day. It became clear and it impressed us to see how multifaceted and diverse life is in our province.
The Agenda offered, among others, different activities to the topic „Home“.
And also at the end of the day, during the Eucharistic celebration, Pfr. Dördelmann took up the theme in his sermon with the questions: Where am I at home? Where are we at home? There are situations in which I feel: Here, you are at home: in an encounter, in turning towards …, in listening to … , there, I find the ‚home‘ in me, and then sometimes it can happen, that I give a home and become a home for others.
Ultimately we find a home in our vocation. We are still on the way to our final home. When we arrive, a home is given to us in its “fullness”.
All in all, it was a successful family celebration, in which also our employees in leadership positions attended and where plenty of time remained to spontaneous encounters.
