The delegates of the German Province gathered together at the Friedrichsburg from the 30th November to 2nd December, 2018, to reflect together with the Provincial coordination on the time passed since the last provincial chapter 2014.
The beautifully designed center with different keys contributed towards getting into an open minded attitude for the upcoming days. The memory of various key was very personal, but helped also to express the expectation of the coming days.
First, an extraordinary provincial chapter stood on the Agenda to elect the delegates for the international General Chapter 2020, who then would represent the German Province.
Elected were: Sr. Edith-Maria Vloet, Sr. Gabriela Levers, Sr. Laetitia Janßen,
Sr. Simone Kessels and Sr. Regina Pacis Meyer/ Sr. Irmgard Dirks.
As a substitute delegate: Sr. Judith Krebs.
The delegates also elected Sr. Elisabeth Kampelmann as the new Deputy Provincial Coordinator. The petition from the Congregational Council to establish an "international community in the Generalate" in Münster, Neubrückenstraße, was discussed and valuable suggestions were made for further development of that petition.
The Provincial coordination showed by means of a PowerPoint Presentation in detail the implementation and further development of the decisions and recommendations since the last Provincial chapter 2014. It was very clear how diverse and complex the different tasks had been adopted and were carried out.
After this evaluation of the recommendations and decisions we shared and discussed in small groups the topics and contents that should be focus and still worked on up to the next provincial chapter in 2020.
In the subsequent plenary session the following topics, among others, have been named:
Development of alternative provincial coordination/leadership models; Further development of the cross-community groups; Life in the new provincial house; Preparation of the provincial chapter in 2020; Formation concept; Updating the papers of ‘delegation of authority’; Training of sisters to carry out liturgical celebration of the Word of God; Intensification of guidance and accompaniment.
Specific working-groups were formed for the individual topics, which would present the achievement to the next meeting of the delegates in the 2nd half of October 2019.
