About 100 people in different services formed a superb structure!

This all gives us an idea of the importance of an annual meeting of the UISG - International Union of Superiors General. The real and deep meaning of the Assembly however is not in their numbers, but in the sown seed!
It is a privilege to be able to reflect what it means for us women religious congregations to sow prophetic hope. We all should benefit from it.
Religious women from different cultures gave presentations on various topics. Each one of these lectures deserves a personal or communal deepening. The texts are available on the homepage of the UISG: www.uisg.org
We had also debates over the presented topics and came to conclusions. In addition, we have been enriched by the presence of Cardinal João Braz de Aviz, prefect of CICLSAL (Congregation for the institutes of consecrated life and societies of apostolic life). He also celebrated the Eucharist with us at the closing of the meeting.
The most beautiful and touching moment was without doubt the simple and open dialog with Pope Francis on May 10. He came to us in the Hall Paul VI. To start with, he launched the campaign "Nuns Healing Hearts" (www.nunshealinghearts.org) commemorating the 10th birthday anniversary of the project "Talita Kum". Then he sat in front of us and responded to our questions. We thanked him above all for his helpfulness, wisdom, courage, and its nearness.
This Assembly elected the new Executive Board of UISG for the term 2019-2022. Our new President is Sr. Jolanda Kafka, from the Congregation of the Sisters of Immaculate Mary - Claretian Missionaries.
