Silver Jubilee of Religious Life in Florianópolis, Brazil
On 3 November 2017, our Congregation celebrates its 175th anniversary. In this Jubilee-Year, also many sisters can celebrate their anniversary of religious life. So, Sr. Maristela Christiano and
Sr. Noeli Friedrich from the Heart of Jesus Province had their 25th anniversary of entry into our Congregation on March 7. The anniversary celebration was on August 13, the month of the Vocation Ministry in Brazil.
In preparing for this double anniversary, a Triduum was celebrated. Sisters of the communities of the Provincial House, the Novitiate and other Provinces and from one Region of Latin America participated in the celebration. On day 1, Sr. Noeli, from the Emmaus Community, spoke about her way of vocation. On the 2nd day, Sr. Maristela from the Heart of Jesus Community communicated important elements of her vocation, and on the 3rd day, the sisters prayed for vocations to the consecrated life.
On Sunday morning, the 13th of August, the sisters, family members and friends of the two Jubilee-Sisters gathered in the Church of the Provincial House to celebrate and to thank God.
The Archbishop of Florianópolis, Wilson Tadeu Jönck, presided at the Eucharistic celebration. The music group of the Mont Serrat and Alto da Caeira Parishes contributed through their singing to much joyfulness and vitality in this celebration.
After the mass, everybody took part in a lunch at the Provincial House.
The Jubilee-Sisters Maristela and Noeli expressed this:
Through the confirmation of our vocation to the present day, we experience the love of God for us; He renews His call to us daily. That what is "for all eternity" are the good deeds that we are able to do on our way!
How good is it to stop, to thank for the Past, and then to continue on the way ahead. Our Jubilee- Year is a special opportunity to remember the experiences in order to revive them.
Challenges belong to our being on-the-way; the search of overcoming these challenges enables us to proceed forward day by day. This process strengthens our faith in the One, who is with us on the way and who shows us where it goes along in order to live better our consecrated life.
Thank you all who celebrate this Jubilee Year with us: Providence sisters, relatives, sisters of other religious congregation, priests, relatives, friends...!
