Solidarity with Palu Sulawesi
The earthquake and the tsunami of September 30, 2018 in Palu, Sulawesi, destroyed not only material goods, but demanded above all a high death-toll. More than 2000 homes were completely destroyed, and lots of people suddenly lost their beloved family members. The suffering of the people of Palu is a concern that has seized the entire Indonesian people.
Together with the Congregatio Missionis CM, a Vincentian religious order, two Indonesian Providence Sisters flew to Palu, to pay attention to the people there and to show their solidarity with the victims of the natural catastrophe. Sr. Yudith Budhiyanti and Sr. Marline Tjhoea are with other volunteers in Palu since 19 October, to accompany the victims as well as helping them to rebuild their homes and the public facilities.
We wish that the sisters and volunteers can bring a sign of love, renew the courage and give strength to those affected.
We are united with them in Palu, especially through our prayers.
