Day of the Open Door at the Sisters of Divine Providence in Jakarta
In the context of the Jubilee year of our Congregation, the Sisters of the communities ‘Maria Mediatrix Cililitan’ and ‘Providentia DWI Warna’ in Jakarta, invited the children of first communion and the alcolytes (altar-boys/girls) of ‘Puteri Sakristi’ (approx. 40 children) to a Day of the Open Door in the community ‘Maria Medriatrix Cililitan’, Jakarta.
The aim of the program: to celebrate our 175 years of existence and to present our vocation to the girls of the area Robert Belarmin. By this, we hope that the children are able to perceive more clearly perceive their own vocation and thus bear fruit.
We told them how the first missionaries from the Netherlands came to us and how they started with the Mission work. Furthermore, we present to the children the works that we do now-a-days all over the world in different countries, where we are present and work. During the presentation, the children could spontaneously voice their questions.
The girls were very excited about a quiz on the Sisters of Divine Providence. To be in a community was for the children an extraordinary experience. They were very glad to get better to know a community-life. One week after this visit on September 17th, 5 girls came to the community and have taken part in our prayer hours. May the children find their vocation according to God's will.
