Sharing Spirituality with the Employees
The Hospital ‘Miriam’ is located in the town Kudus, Central Java. This clinic is one of the social institutions of the Indonesian Sisters of Divine Providence with a focus on health. It provides not only delivery services, but operates also a day-care-centre and a cafeteria (snack bar) for guests of the clinic. Now the building is under renovation. We build not only the house, but we encourage our staff of this clinic so that they can improve their commitment.
We are very grateful that the Provincial Coordination – according to the General Chapter decision – has formed a Panel on spirituality, so that we can share our spirituality of Divine Providence with our employees. Sr. Dorothe, Sr. Nurwaningsih and Sr. Jackie Lee belong to this Panel. As a first step of this group Sr. Nurwaningsih and Sr. Miryam have held a meeting with all employees in Kudus on October 31 - November 1, 2016.
The meeting has started with personal conversations of about 15 minutes each, which was very useful to the staff. Thus, they got an opportunity to express their own experiences. This meeting should serve as a preparation for further meetings.
At the end of this activity, each participant found an icon and expressed her commitment in short words. In addition, the team on spirituality pointed out the important attitudes: accepting, empathy and devotion. At the end, all have danced together sharing their joy and peace with each other. Thank be to God through this encounter, the employees felt more motivated to do their service in the clinic. Everyone wants to help our patients with her own talents.
