Sharing the Charism and Spirituality of the Congregation with „Non-members“ (Lay people) in Latin America

To love, serve, surrender to the Divine Providence, to trust on Him, enthusiastically carry out our mission in the world and have thereby the spirituality and the charism of the Sisters of Divine Providence as the source of permanent revitalization: this is our Mission!

On 28-29 September 2017, a Latin American meeting took place at the provincial house in Florianópolis, in which participated 27 representatives - sisters and non-members – of the provinces and region.

The aim of the meeting was to get to know and familiarize oneself with the pilot project of the spirituality and the charism, in order to look for common points of reference for the specific formation plans of the following groups:

• Messenger of Divine Providence (adults and children)
• Employees, who work in our communities, in schools, in hospitals and in the social projects
• Volunteers and others, who are engaged in our mission areas.

During these days we have deepened different content:

• The experiences of God's Providence in the Mission of the General superiors of the congregation, their achievements, their challenges, as well as concrete signs of their loyal fidelity in God's hands;  
• The participation (cooperation) of the laity;  
• Divine Providence in the Bible;  
• Spirituality, the Charism and the Mission of the laity in the Church, in the congregation, in society and the world;
• The vocation - mission of the laity in the Church;  
• The charism of the founder;  
• The Connection between charism and spirituality.

These days were characterized by strong moments of spirituality, an intense life of togetherness, experience of sharing and deepening contents and new insights. The participants could feel/experience the loving and gentle presence of the Father and his caring (providential) action. Thus, they could say: He truly goes the way with us!
