Meeting of Religious in the „House of Divine Providence“ in Trindade, Brazil
August is the month of the Vocation Ministry in Brazil. This year, its theme was: "being missionary disciples like Mary" with the motto: „Here I am, may it be done..." To celebrate the day of vocation to Consecrated life, the Religious Conference of Florianópolis invited to an afternoon of encounter. The meeting took place on the 19th August 2017 in the "House of Divine Providence" in Trindade / Florianópolis.
The coordination team had put together a diverse program to include approximately 80 sisters and brothers who had followed the invitation. They focused on the following objective: to strengthen our life and our mission, and to thank for that, what we are called for: "We are consecrated people of joy".
The meeting was short and very intense: After the welcome and integration, there was an exchange on significant initiatives of the Religious Conference. The Group also took up the message that the Religious Conference of Brazil had to say to the Religious people on this day of encounter. After a coffee break, there were still activities to relax with a raffle of small gifts. With joy and gratitude, the Magnificat was sung at the end of the meeting.
For the Sisters of this House - many have difficulties to participate meetings outside - it was a great pleasure to be able to open their doors for this meeting on this important day. For the Sisters of other religious congregation, it was a good opportunity to experience the "House of the elderly sisters" as a "House of Divine Providence". It is a place of evangelization, in which prayer circles take place regularly, in which many people attendant the daily Eucharistic celebration together with the sisters, and in which the employees get the possibility for further training and up-grading…
Praise and thanks be to God! To the coordination team of the Religious Conference of the greater region of Florianópolis we say: thanks you very much for this important meeting!
