Christmas 2020
“Behold, the virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel which means “God is with us” Mtt. 1:23
Dear Sisters and Brothers in the faith,
Christmas time is here again. It is a time of joy that is associated with the coming of Jesus, who comes to live in us, among us and with us! A time of thanksgiving, of giving and receiving, of sharing what God has given us to others. A special moment of actions of love and solidarity with those in need!
God came to this earth in such an incredible humble way as a baby born in a barn stall (according to the picture drawn by Lawrence Kapasule). The Child – Jesus, is God’s amazing gift to us all. That is why as Christians we celebrate Christmas. God has prepared something great for each of us, and the way to that is through His son Jesus Christ!
God comes to meet us and dwells in all cultures. The true meaning of Christmas is: the grace of being able to trust the simplicity of a little baby who came to save us.
In this year of the pandemic, let the birth of Jesus strengthen our faith in God. Christmas becomes a reason for our Hope. His birth should become a source of great joy that strengthens our hope and trust. He comes to bring us life and courage in the presence of the challenges of this time. It should awaken in us a feeling of gratitude, for He is always present in us and among us. He does not abandon us.
Dear Sisters and Brothers, may Jesus Christ who has come to live among us be the source of our peace, joy and the special blessings of Christmas and always!
As the year 2020 comes towards the end, we thank God who has led us on this path together, and will continue to lead us.
May the new year 2021 bring to you many blessings.
